Apple Campus 2 EIR Scoping Session 9/8

Last night was the first public meeting to discuss the environmental impact of the new Apple "Mothership" campus, held in Cupertino's Community Center. In attendence were around 100 attendees from around the Bay. Some were there to learn more about the project itself while others were there to bitch and moan bring up important topical issues concerning them and the community.

"Our schools may have to go to two stories, because we have limited room," said Cupertino resident Homer Tong, who sits on the board that oversees the local high school district, where Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak graduated. "Maybe we need some (financial) help from Apple."

Interestingly, upon entering the venue everyone was welcomed with chance to sign up for new updates regarding the Apple Campus 2 project on a number of iPad 2's. It was pretty clear where Cupertino stands on the project.
